What’s the difference between optical lenses and Fresnel lenses

Optical lenses are thicker and smaller; Fresnel lenses are thin and large in size.

Fresnel lens principle is French physicist Augustine. It was invented by AugustinFresnel, which transformed spherical and aspherical lenses into light and thin planar shape lenses to achieve the same optical effect. Then, a large number of optical bands were processed on the planar surface through ultra-precision processing, and each band played the role of an independent lens. Fresnel lens is the best way to realize large, flat and thin lens.

The manufacture of Feist Fresnel lenses, especially large size lenses, involves optical design simulation, ultra-precision manufacturing technology, polymer materials and precision molding process. Fresnel lens can be widely used in lighting, navigation, scientific research and so on.

Fresnel lens is a flat plate shape that reflects and concentrates rays. Using this principle and splicing technology, we can transform paraboloid, ellipsoid and higher order surface optical lens of any aperture into plane shape, so as to realize splicing Fresnel lens of any size, and explore the application of space solar energy and giant reflector (such as guizhou Tianyan 500-meter aperture radio telescope).

The infinite Mosaic technology of Fresnel lens can be used from several meters, to hundreds of meters, to any large size. Guizhou Tianjia parabolic reflection surface with a diameter of 500 meters can use this Mosaic technology to simulate parabolic surface with flat Fresnel lens, which reduces the difficulty of processing and is easier to install and adjust.
